WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP

She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet.
(Proverbs 31:20-21)

“All Glory and Honour and Praise be unto you Oh Lord, God.”

From the beginning of the Bible women played a major role in the building up of the church. So it is with the women in all the churches even today. CSI Holy Cross Church Perambur has encouraged the women’s fellowship for a very long time. The women’s fellowship of this church began in the 1970’s. The landline telephone for the church was installed by the women’s fellowship. Today we continue as one pillar of the church to praise and pray to the Lord for the needs of our fellowmen.

The women’s fellowship of our Church meet every Friday at 4 pm to pray for the sick and all the families and people in need of prayers in our congregation. On second and fourth Sundays after Service we meet after the morning worship Service. This time is dedicated to Bible studies and sharing of testimonies.

Visits to sick parishioner’s homes, hospitals, and to the terminally ill are also part of the fellowships activities. Yearly visits are conducted especially during the season of Christmas to Old age homes, Cancer & AIDS patients care centres, children’s home. This year we visited a slum called “ “

We take part in supporting our church activities such as the Mission Sunday and participate in all Church functions with special items in song, such as the Holy Cross Day Service and campfire, carol service.

Once a year we conduct an offsite retreat is conducted, which serves to rejuvenate us spiritually, mentally and increase our fellowship bond with each other.

Through our prayers we have experienced the presence of God we have achieved marvellous wonderful blessings and miracles from God not only for each one of us and our families but also for the whole church and community.

With the Blessing of God, and guidance from Mrs. Sumathi Charles our Pastor’s wife and our Convener Mrs Aurora Mani, we will endeavour and envision more works that we can do for the society and community as a whole.
